Readox Now Supports 18 Interface Locales

Use Readox in your browser's language, with 18 supported interface locales, right-to-left layout for Arabic, and English fallback.

Readox’s controls and settings now follow your browser’s interface language. Open the side panel, choose a voice, organize your library, or adjust playback settings with labels and instructions in a supported language.

The update covers the side panel, settings, voice picker, library, floating player, right-click menu, and extension notifications.

Supported languages and regional variants

Readox includes 18 interface locales:

Your browser chooses the language

Update Readox and open the side panel or settings. The extension uses your browser’s interface language automatically, so there is no separate language setting to configure in Readox.

If your browser’s language does not have a supported translation, Readox falls back to English. Missing individual translations also use the English text, so controls and messages still have readable labels.

Right-to-left layout for Arabic

The Arabic interface reads from right to left, including menus, dialogs, and settings. Transcript paragraphs follow the direction of their own text, so an English passage remains readable inside the Arabic interface, and Arabic text reads from right to left.

Choose your reading voice separately

The interface language is independent of the voice you select for listening. You can use French controls while listening to an English article, or use the Portuguese interface with a Brazilian Portuguese voice. Your articles, saved text, and collection names stay as you wrote or saved them.
